Let the Little Children Come...

After visiting Beverly's blog @ How Sweet The Sound, I thought that it would be okay to share this representation of Christ, "Let the Little Children Come.  It is one of those Collector's items that comes with a letter and certificate of authenticity that you see advertised in magazines.  I never fall for them about Elvis, and other celebrities.  But many years ago, I was so struck by the figure of the artist's conception of our Lord with children that I wanted to have it to display in my home as a testimony of my faith.  I asked my Sweet hubby at the time if it would be selfish of me to buy something I deemed very expensive at this point of time in our lives.  He, being the wonderful person that he is, assured me that it was not selfish, if I wanted it to purchase it.
It is such a wonderful figure and so detailed right down to the veins in the hands and feet of Jesus and the detail and joy shown in the eyes of the children.  I have this displayed in my corner china closet in the living room and I see it every day.  The threesome will have to be handed down like an heirloom because I could never "sell" Jesus in my lifetime.  He was offered as an "investment" because the figures would increase in value through the years.  But I don't care about any of that, I have invested in my eternal life by my belief in our Savior and have no need for material return.  It is not worshiping an idol because I do not worship these life-like beautiful dolls, they are just that, dolls.  But the symbolism is very real to me and comforting.  I hope you will enjoy seeing this artist's work.
Blessings and hugs, Kerrie

Hi Kerrie,
What a beautiful piece!! What a lovely story too, about your husband supporting your purchase knowing how much it meant to you. How wonderful that you have something that you can look at each day to bring you joy and help hold your faith.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment about my little project!

Oh how beautiful! My Aunt had a picture hanging in her Den when I was a child. It was a picture Of Jesus sitting dpwn with children on his lap. One child is holding his hand while asking, "what happened to your hand". I still get goosbumps just thinking aout it. Oh how I would love to be one of those children on his lap. For now I will just rest in his comfort of being in his love and grace. Thank you for sharing this post with me today. I love being able to stop and take time ...be still~
