When I survey the Wondrous Cross

♫♫"When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the prince of glory died,
My richest gain would be but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

See from His head, His Hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down,
Love so amazing, so complete
Demands my soul, my life, my all, Demands my soul, my life, my all!♫♫

When I sang this song in years past in the "Singing Christmas Tree" production in Myrtle Beach, I was so struck by the word that my chest actually ached.  The suffering that this God made Flesh had to suffer was beyond any agony that I could imagine.  I felt like I was seeing the blood from his head, hand and feet flowing while life ebbed away while his own Mother watched in pain.  Will we ever again witness such a sacrifice?  I pray not and thank Jesus for dying for me and for you and all of mankind.
Rejoice this Easter Sunday when the stone is rolled away and our Lord rises!  Enjoy your families and be elated that you can live free and worship as you choose.  It is such a blessing and should never be taken for granted.

Kerry,
It took me years to understand how Easter and Christmas were related. There were a lot of good sermons in there to show the connection. I wish you a happy and blessed Easter.
