Mother's Day Thoughts

Mother's Day...What a wonderful way to show Mom just how we feel about her!!  And to thank her for all the selfless love she gave to us in the past, present and future for as long as she lives.  A Mother's job is never complete.  We mothers worry before you were born, after you were born, and all of the stages from there to aldulthood.  Our love is never ending though we have been stern at times and you did not always agree.  The older you get, the smarter Mom gets and you appreciate her insight and wisdom.  Make sure you let your Mom know just how much you love and appreciate her and don't forget Grandma, she's a Mama, too!
Here are some verses I have created for you to use if you desire.  Thanks for visiting all of my blogs and leaving your wonderful comments!
      MOTHER'S DAY
Oh Mother Dear, the day is here,
To celebrate your being.
 Lucky me, born to You
And each year I am seeing
More wisdom in your sparkling eyes
More love in your heart beating.
Thank you Mom for all you do
And our bond forever keeping.

2.    Mother's Day
Mother, have I told you
Just how much you mean to me?
Have I thanked you for the midnight talks
 And daytime visits over tea?
Have I told you you're my heroine
And how much I look up to you?
Well Mother I will tell you now
You are forever in my heart and
      I LOVE YOU!

3.  MOTHER'S DAY
Hi Mom, just a little note
To say how much I love you
And wish you Happy Mother's Day.
Though I celebrate you Every day
And Thank God for giving me
 a wonderful Mom like you!

I hope I have inspired you to write your own feelings in a verse or feel free to use my writings with your thoughts intertwined with mine.

This shadow box creation is 3 dimensional and features a Victorian Lady in front of a shop.  Her dress is layered, the bicycle wheel and flowered basket are layored.  The little Mother's Day tag is tucked in to the wheel.  I loved creating this framed gift that any mother would enjoy.
Thank you for visiting and look for this Victorian beauty in my Etsy Shop. Link is in the sidebar.

Christmas poetry

SHARING MORE CHRISTMAS POETRY:
THE BEST GIFTS...
©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

The best gifts are given from the heart
and often can only be felt there.
Like memories of friends and family
Singing Carols around the tree.

Watching the tree lights in the dark of the room
After Santa has flown by the light of the moon.
Ribbon Candy, nuts and pies
Sleepy children with half-closed eyes
Tired out from playing with the wrappings.

PAPER WRAPPINGS...
©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Paper wrappings, tinsel, bows
Children peeking on tippy toes
To see what Santa has left behind
From a giant sack, he looked so kind -
A little bit like Daddy.

And under the branches of the tree
Is a little gift to you from me
You'll find it wrapped with all my love
Written on a card with a snow white dove.
And on the mantle where the holly is wound
A gift from you to me...I found.
And hugged it to my heart.

CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS-POETRY

SHARING SOME OF MY CHRISTMAS POETRY WRITTEN IN PREVIOUS YEARS:
Christmas Trees and Memories....
©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Silent night, holy night,
Bless this house with God's great light.
Underneath the branches of this tree
Let there always be a happy memory
Of best old friends and family,
Times past, tonight and times to be.
Thank you God for your holy Son
We celebrate this day, the Glorious One!

Remembering Christmas Past
©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

The little lights upon the tree
bring back a flood of memories
When children still believed in dreams
And Santa silhouetted against moon beams.
When home was still the safest place
To enjoy Mom's food and Daddy's grace.

What a joy to see the presents and
excitement on each face
To know that this warm moment
will last through time and space.
Merry, Merry Christmas and
God bless this childhood place...

When I first moved to South Carolina from Central New York State, I could not imagine feeling the Christmas spirit when there was no snow and temps were like fall in our far away hometown.  But as the holiday grew closer, I was filled with excitement and joy contemplating the celebrations of Christ's birth and I realized that Christmas was in the heart wherever I live.  Why change Merry Christmas to Happy Holidays! Christ is not only for Christians reading the Bible, Christ is recorded historically in the history books.  He was a man who lived and died because of his beliefs.  Isn't this why America was settled, to insure religious freedom?  Christmas is our celebration in memory of the man Jesus Christ as well as our savior.  I lost my first two children after birth and yet I still mark their birthdays on the calendar with a little heart and know how old they would be if they were alive today.  I do this "in memory of them".  Other religions have memorial days for their beliefs and we do not seek to change the names of their celebrations to suit what is pleasing to our ears.  I am for keeping Christ in Christmas, how about you?
So I do not miss the snow and cold but still relish the tree and lights inside and out!  I am in the process of decorating for the holiday and right now am in a nightmare of boxes and bags full of decorations.  To see my hectic day, please go to my TWO HAPPY blogsite: http://beaver-kerrie.blogspot.com/ and read on!  Thanks for visiting, come again soon!
