New Addition

 This is "Lilly" (I named her).  She was a rescue dog from a puppy mill at my local Coastal Rescue Ctr.  I have been so lonely without Bill and she is the best medicine yet for depression and loneliness!  She is precious!  She is 4 mos. old and only weighs 3 lbs.!  She is a teacup Chihuahua.  The adoption fee was a very modest amount that I could afford and includes all shots and spaying in 2 more months!  I am so pleased.

Isabella, my RagDoll cat has adjusted very well to the new member of the family and more or less just keeps an eye on this little one's antics-ha!

This is her little Lambchop toy and she loves it!

Rain, Rain go away!

"Rain, Rain, go away.  Little Johnny wants to play..."  For some reason my video will not publish of the downpour! So I had to delete it-bummer.  Any suggestions??  

So here is just a photo of the rain before the deluge!

It has done nothing but rain for days on end.  They say that it is not a result of the hurricane in the gulf but yet the radar pictures on news casts show the rain swirling far out from the hurricane through all the Southern States.  This is a video that I took earlier today with my little camera.

As a result of the moist conditions, my front lawn grew a number of mushrooms that I had to rake to pick up and get rid of them. 

I took these pictures when a few moments of sun came out a few days ago. Praying for all those in the gulf who are experiencing flooding once again.  So sad!

This is my sweet little Rose bush that my daughter gave to me this spring.  It is no more than 5 or 6 inches tall at most but keeps producing a single rose one after the other.  I just love love the colors. Looking forward to better weather and cooler temps for the fall.  Hope your days are filled with sunshine!

Long time, no post!

 I have been working a lot and also 2 weeks ago I went to NYS to see my son and family. We really had a good time and went to the zoo one day where I took this great picture of the Thistle and bee!
My granddaughters Sarah and Kelsey were at the zoo with us and indulged us with taking pictures in front of the statue.

My daughter Barbara went with me on the trip and one of her favorite places to go is a Tom Thumb Ice Cream Restaurant overlooking Owasco Lake where we all took pictures of the beautiful sunset.  It has been there forever and I was surprised that the owner is now white haired and aging.  Time never passes in our minds....

It was beautiful weather while we were there and not unlike what the weather is in SC.  

And I happened to be there when my 1960 Class had their monthly luncheon so I got to see about 11 classmates!  That was fun, too.  I am the first one on the left and my sis-in-law next to me.

And this poor old girl was the eldest Elephant at the zoo.  I always feel so sorry for the animals that are caged or tethered.  There were several elephants though that were moving about freely in a large field.

I have been subbing at a doc's office this whole last week and got very tired-ha!  Old age is not for sissies as the saying goes!  I am catching up on my posting and will post more pictures on my other blogs over the weekend.

A TURTLE JOURNEY

Yesterday this female turtle came up from the lake behind the house and I followed her journey across the yard and into the Azalea Bushes where she probably found a spot to lay her eggs.  I could not identify her from my book as there was none that looked like her with the smooth back and gray head.  She moved very quickly and I went from window to window to document her journey!  I am so blessed to see all the wildlife and nature adventures from my den windows!

I just love observing nature in my own back yard!  Have a wonderful day and I hope your 4th of July was great!

SUCCESS-GOT SOME CLEANING DONE....And Swan with injured wing

So happy to get some of my cleaning done.  Trying to get rid of clutter in my home, too many nick knacks, etc.  And my computer room/Den is finally neat! Ha!

Here it is. I had a link for you to see more pictures but it seems the address was too long from face book so could not use it.  Sorry!  Suffice to say I uncluttered the living room satisfactorily too, and was very happy with a productive day :)

One of the Mute Swans has a partially broken wing.  He 

doesn't seem to be in pain and stood on the bank preening 

himself.  

Satisfied he was gorgeous again after about 1/2 hour,

 he went swimming off.

I have no idea what happened to him but suspect he was injured by a 

slow moving vehicle as Swans and Geese think they own the road.  

Luckily, the speed limit in our community is 15mph.  He will most likely

 still be able to function with his injury.

My Garden

GOOD MORNING FAMILY AND BLOGGY FRIENDS!
I have been working a lot subbing at the Doctor's office and have not had time to post and visit as often as I would like. Sharing my Garden Spots around the yard today, everything is so beautiful!

 Gladiola are beautiful this year and so tall I had to stake them up!  I am never sure where they will spring up as the squirrel moves the bulbs around during the winter-ha!

 I just adore their happy faces.  When I was a little girl, my Dad let me send away for some bulbs and I planted them along the side of the house that faced a shoe factory next door.  It was the brightest spot in the yard and I loved it!

 The Hydrangea Bush was one of hubby's favorites and it is so pretty this year.

 And this is my menagerie of odd pots that wintered over inside the shed.  They look well considering.


There is a Poinsettia at the top that was a gift from a neighbor at Christmas time, Moses in the basket on the left,  various Christmas Cacti, Mums on the bottom middle and Begonia that I rooted from cuttings.

And this is a pedestal pot under my front window with Vinca Vine, Pansies, Begonia, Petunia and Marigold.  I just love the container even though is is getting old.

This is my memorial tiered garden pot that I made for my Sweet Bill in his memory.  My neighbor called the shed garden my Memorial Garden and wants me to put a little plaque up in it.  I am thinking that I could paint something on the window box on the shed....

Busy, Busy...

GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS!  I cannot believe how fast the days have been going by!  I missed you all.  I am still adjusting to being one of two. But it is getting a smidgen better every day.  I worked all last week subbing at the doctor's office so that was good getting out and earning some money.  God provides and He is so Good!


So anyway, I wanted to share some photos of another outing at Huntington Beach State Park here in Murrells Inlet, SC.  This time, my daughter took me just before sunset when the creatures are all settling in for the night, it was so beautiful.

Huntington Beach State Park is a Painter's and Photographer's heaven!  There were many photographers there that evening with tripods and super huge scopes and lens but I am sure their pictures were no better than these little digital cameras take-ha! 

 Murrells Inlet, SC is a fishing village and nationally known for it's wonderful seafood restaurants. Huntington Beach, SC is a state park and was originally owned by the Huntington's.  Mrs. Huntington was a sculptress and across the road from the park is Brookgreen Gardens where her sculptures are displayed all over acres of property and lovely gardens.  It also has a Butterfly House and a wood trail with wildlife in their natural habitat (owls, red fox, Eagles, hawks, etc.)

 It is a wonderful respite at the beach where you can forget all of your troubles and be lost in the beauty of God and nature.  On Saturday we saw Wood Storks, Egrets, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Alligators, Dragonflies, and breathtaking sunset scenes.

FULL MOON 

I loved snapping this of the little pier lookout over the marsh water.  The setting sun illuminates it so nicely and it makes me want to paint or sketch this :)

Clouds and reflections are some of my most favorite subjects.  Also, future paintings....

I am guessing this is Trumpet Vine that grows next to the sidewalk all along the causeway.


I sure hope you enjoyed this tour of Huntington Beach State Park and that you will one day visit this beautiful spot.  There are year round camping facilities there, also.  I am truly blessed that I am living only 10 minutes away from this paradise.  Thank you for coming and do come again soon.
