Busy, Busy...

GOOD MORNING MY FRIENDS!  I cannot believe how fast the days have been going by!  I missed you all.  I am still adjusting to being one of two. But it is getting a smidgen better every day.  I worked all last week subbing at the doctor's office so that was good getting out and earning some money.  God provides and He is so Good!

So anyway, I wanted to share some photos of another outing at Huntington Beach State Park here in Murrells Inlet, SC.  This time, my daughter took me just before sunset when the creatures are all settling in for the night, it was so beautiful.
Huntington Beach State Park is a Painter's and Photographer's heaven!  There were many photographers there that evening with tripods and super huge scopes and lens but I am sure their pictures were no better than these little digital cameras take-ha!
Murrells Inlet, SC is a fishing village and nationally known for it's wonderful seafood restaurants. Huntington Beach, SC is a state park and was originally owned by the Huntington's.  Mrs. Huntington was a sculptress and across the road from the park is Brookgreen Gardens where her sculptures are displayed all over acres of property and lovely gardens.  It also has a Butterfly House and a wood trail with wildlife in their natural habitat (owls, red fox, Eagles, hawks, etc.)
Dragonfly on dried dock plant.
Blue Heron and Egret sharing a fishing spot.

It is a wonderful respite at the beach where you can forget all of your troubles and be lost in the beauty of God and nature.  On Saturday we saw Wood Storks, Egrets, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Alligators, Dragonflies, and breathtaking sunset scenes.
FULL MOON
I loved snapping this of the little pier lookout over the marsh water.  The setting sun illuminates it so nicely and it makes me want to paint or sketch this :)

Clouds and reflections are some of my most favorite subjects.  Also, future paintings....
I am guessing this is Trumpet Vine that grows next to the sidewalk all along the causeway.

I sure hope you enjoyed this tour of Huntington Beach State Park and that you will one day visit this beautiful spot.  There are year round camping facilities there, also.  I am truly blessed that I am living only 10 minutes away from this paradise.  Thank you for coming and do come again soon.

FRIDAY'S WILDLIFE AND QUICK PHOTO SHOTS

I usually feature the little lake behind our house but with the ice on it, none of the regular visitors have come in a few days.  BUT, I ventured out into the beautiful sunshine today bundled up and armed with my digital camera and visited all the Lakes in the neighborhood.  Here is what I snapped before the batteries died. LOL!

A beautiful lake near the front of our Community

This little Dock is on one of the largest Lakes and many people put a dock out so that they can sit over the water in the warmer weather.  I would love that but Hubby is not well enough to take on a project like this!  There is something magic about being near water.  My friend, Doris Strum has a beautiful lake that she visits and takes stunning pictures.  Please pop over to see Doris when you can.  She also crochets the most delightful things and has an Etsy shop where she sells them.
There are many little islands in the Lakes in our neighborhood and the Mallards, Egrets and all wading birds find great resting places there.

It was certainly a perfect day for snapping pictures!  I saw the little hooded ducks again that I cannot identify but my camera batteries had died and they quickly swam away from my spying eyes-ha!  They look like a hooded Merganser but their heads are completely black and black and white are the only colors on their bodies.  One day I will get a good picture I am hoping.

Thanks for stopping and do come again soon.  Please visit my other blogs that are linked in my sidebar.  My Christian blog is Kerrie's Home Journal.
