Winter Pink

Joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday 2013!
The Christmas Cactus is on my backporch and this morning it was only 30 degrees when I took this photo.  I have no room to bring plants inside so I cover them with plastic drop cloths and hope for the best.

We had a "killing frost" last night here in SC but in my neighbor's yard, there blooms a Winter Rose still blooming with melting frost droplets on its petals...

I love roses and delight in seeing them in January!  My own Candy Striped Rose just stopped blooming but then the Camellia bush that is also a Winter bloomer, is loaded with blossoms.

Thank you for visiting today and come again soon.  When you have time, visit my other blogs listed in the sidebar.

Pink Saturday Azaleas

GOOD PINK SATURDAY MORNING TO YOU!!  I AM FEATURING ALL THE PINK AZALEAS THAT ARE BEGINNING TO BLOOM IN MY BACK YARD!  Don't forget to visit our Pink Saturday Founder, Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/ for the list of all participants so you can see all the lovely pinks!!  I hope you will join in sometime or every time for Pink Saturday.  Enjoy!!
The miniature Azaleas always comes out to bloom first every year.  These blossoms are about the size of a quarter.
They are so precious.  We have both light and dark pinks.
This is a normal size blossom and they are just starting to bud and open as you can see.  These blossoms are as big as daffodils.

We have a long row of these bushes on the side of our back yard, they will be just solid soon with the blooms so much so that they hide the leaves!
This is my Crown of Thorns plant that was started from a tiny shoot that my Mom cut from her plant.  I have had it for at least 15 yrs.  It is now chest high on me and about 2 1/2 feet in circumfrence.  We bring it in at wintertime and then it stays outside all summer.  It never stops blossoming.
I do not know the name of this beautiful ornamental tree but it is so beautiful.  We found it on our hunt today for Wisteria Vine that is blooming everywhere in SC right now.  I will be posting those pictures on my  TWO HAPPY blog Saturday also.

Thanks for coming and do come again soon!

A Stroll through the yard...

We are just loving all of the beautiful flowers in our yard that add so much color and enjoyment to our lives!  The Hydrangeas are Lavender this year but were Blue when we bought the bush 2 yrs. ago.  Hydrangea's color is determined by the make up of the soil, I think that is so neat!  The Lilies are so bright and beautiful and our little white birdbath planter sits under the front windows.  It is so full of Pansies with big smiley faces, Vinca vine and a fir tree that seeded itself in the middle-gotta love that!
Thanks for visiting and please go to TWO HAPPY to see my contribution for Pink Saturday tomorrow!  Beverly at How Sweet the Sound is celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of Pink Saturday and there will be a host of contributors to celebrate!
