Here we are with Christmas only weeks away and The Bradford Pear Tree is only now in Brilliant color.  I do love it so!  We have had a couple of good frosts but today it is 54 right now and Sunny, A glorious Sunday!

The inside of the house is decorated and very "Christmassy" I just invented a new word and Christ will be in my Christmas greetings forever!!

This is our little tiny tree on a bench in the den.  The Vintage Wood Stove electric heater I bought on line from good old Wal-mart, is working wonderfully to heat the den (it was a screened in porch when we moved here 6 yrs. ago) and a delight to see as the flames look so real!
Isabella never leaves the room now because it is cozy.  She snoozes there on the rocker.

Such a lovely time of year, is it not?  We love living here in SC, the weather is so great year round but we still have the change of seasons.  In 23 yrs. this Dec 29th, we have seen snow only 4 times with only twice having it stay on the ground.  Here is a picture of seasons past.

Thank you for stopping by this beautiful Sunday.  If you have time, please visit my other blogs listed in the side bar.  And shop my Etsy shop for unique hand made gifts.

Snowing in SC

Goodness, second year in a row we have had on and off snow flurries in SC! Hmmm! This was yesterday:
Mergansers are back
Here is a pic of this morning:

And the squirrel has completely taken over the oldest birdhouse, remodeled the doorway to accommodate his size and hangs out there all the day. Today he is in there to get out of the snow! It snowed for at least an hour this morning closing our local schools but no accumulation on our South end of the Grand Strand. Now it is pouring rain and I think I preferred the gentle falling of the snow flakes.

Isn't he just precious?  My daughter feeds him peanuts and he eats them with his head outside or takes them to the ground.  I told her he does not want to mess the house up-ha!
So it continues to be a gloomy day and I still cannot download pictures in the new program unless I leave the blog each time and sign back in.  Are any of you having trouble with down loading your photos??  There are a ton of messages on Blog support but Blogspot is not answering them.  And other bloggers suggestions do not work at all.

Bye for now, come again soon, Hugs to all you nature and wildlife lovers!

WINTER WONDERLAND IN SC

WE WERE SO EXCITED TO SEE THE SNOWFALL last night and this morning as it is not often we see snow that stays on the ground in South Carolina!  In 21 years we have seen snow like that only 4-5 times.  So it was a novelty for us and we took lots of pictures.  Our granddaughter and daughter built a snowman last night as soon as it accumulated.  This morning the birds carried on as usual in the back yard suet and feeder.  Our beloved Blue Birds and Cardinals were even more brilliant against the snow background.  We are originally from Auburn, NY so we saw many harsh winters with lots of snow.  But this was a treat.  It will be melted away as quickly as it came but for now we are enjoying the quiet peace and beauty of the back yard.  We hope you enjoy our photos. ♥ Bill and Kerrie

Snow in Garden City, SC

THIS IS TOO FUNNY!  We are all so excited to see snow here when everywhere else they are sick of it!!  Our granddaughter is spending the night and our daughter is here, too.  We all got so excited to see the snow accumulating on the ground that we were all out on the porch snapping pictures.  It was humorous because none of us had shoes on-LOL!  We have only had snow here 4 or 5 times in the 21 years we have lived here!!  So it is an event!
