FALL DAY AT THE BEACH...

HUBBY ACTUALLY HAD A GOOD DAY YESTERDAY!  So he wanted to go to Myrtle Beach State Park that is only a few miles from our house and take a walk on the pier.

Now I would like to tell you we caught this BIG FISH,
But not! LOL!

A Beautiful Blackbird preening in the sun on the pier rail
He was so glossy that he looked wet!

We were surprised to see these jelly fish as they are usually prevalent during July and August but they were all over under the pier and were as big or bigger than a head of cabbage.
A small plane glided over head while heading for a landing at Myrte Beach Airport.
In keeping with the Autumn colors, the sand dunes were covered with this orange mum like flower.
Then we were delighted  when we came home and entered our community, there were two young Wood Storks in the first small lake!!  Mature Wood Storks do not have feathers on the top of their head and neck but have smooth gray bare skin.  Wood Storks are the only stork indigenous to America.
They are twice as large as a Great Blue Heron or Egret and we were excited to have a glimpse of them.  We stopped the car and Hubby got out to capture them on film.  They are very shy though and started to move away so we left them.
Thank you for visiting, and please leave a comment and come again soon.
See  Kerrie's Home Journal for your spiritual message for the day.

A Visit to Myrtle Beach State Park

YESTERDAY WE DECIDED TO GO TO THE PARK and check out camping sites as we have never camped there before.  We live only 1/2 hour from Myrtle Beach State Park and have visited there before to walk on the beach but now that we have our camper, it would be a lovely weekend get-a-way!  It was cozy in the trees but then we took a walk on the pier and the wind was freezing-ha!  But we were glad we did because we got some awesome pictures of the ocean and birds!

I think this looks like a painting, it is so beautiful.  The pier was crowded with pigeons heading into the wind and a few brave fisherman scattered about.
The surf was very rough and moving like a living thing.  It was quite beautiful despite the overcast sky.

This shot looking South from the pier showed beautiful shafts of sun rays beyound the clouds at the horizon.  Definitely not a bikini day-ha!

And then of course there is Isabella the Queen who decided to take over the beautiful afghan that my daughter is still working on.  She thought it was created just for her and settled right in on it!

After all, when you are Queen of the house, you can plop anywhere you want to!
