I just love how straight his legs were as he stood very still watching the water for fish! The little lake was still and his reflection was just perfect! I thought my picture was pretty good but Hubby's are much better!
Here are 2 female and 1 male Merganser right near the Heron who is watching closely. Running from window to window I finally caught them all together but the reflection of the curtain is in the left hand corner of the pic. The other male had just dove under the water. They are wonderful divers and eat fish. Their beauty is astounding! I used one of my favorite pictures as a new blog header for this page and have also used one taken in the spring on my Kerrie's Home Journal blog header.
This is the one of the Great Blue Heron that Hubby took. He went outside to get this shot from across the lake. Isn't he beautiful? I love the rich color of the bank behind him with the dead grasses and leaves.
And our little squirrel nutkin friend was hiding in the Bradford Pear Tree in the front yard because the bug man truck was next door and making way too much noise for his scared little ears!!
Thank you so much for coming today! I love your visits and your comments. I know that 2011 is going to be a very good year with all the bloggy friends!

Great shots of the Hooded Mergansers and heron. I found some mergansers while I was out and about today too.
Of course my favorite photo is the adorable little squirrel. Your weather looks so warm and inviting.
Aren't those herons just majestic? I have been able to see one several times and take pictures, and it's always such a thrill! But I have never seen a merganser! I would love that, they look so cute!
Great pics of Gods creatures..:))
Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures of the wildlife of which I am very fond of.
